Second Annual NPN Holiday Gift Guide & Giveaway (12/6, 24 winners, US only ARV $2587.26)

This review is part of the Second Annual Natural Parents Network Holiday Gift Guide!
If you need to complete your holiday shopping, find a birthday present for a friend, or just treat yourself to something special, the NPN Holiday Gift Guide has something for everyone. But what's even better, the NPN Holiday Gift Guide is a great opportunity to shop consciously and to support many naturally
minded small businesses.

The 55 companies that have provided items for review and giveaway are almost exclusively made up of work-at-home shops or companies that are dedicated to supporting eco-conscious choices.

I'm featuring one of those companies in my review below. When you get done reading my review, please click on over to the full Perfect for Kids and Perfect for Families. And you can find all 6 Rafflecopter widgets there, too.

Without further ado, here is my review - thank you for reading and entering!

This is a Joint Review and Giveaway of the Canning Labels from Pomegranate Kids between Natural Parents Network and True Confessions of a Real Mommy.

Pomegranate Kids is sharing from their series of Charley Harper Nature Discovery Books with us! Drawing from Charley Harper's Birdicopia comes a wonderful book and sticker set introduces children to the artist's interpretation of things in nature along a walk through What's in the Woods, identifying plants and animals along the way.

When I took on this review, I was thinking I would get to check out a cute book, with some neat artwork, that maybe L2 (4yo) and L3 (almost 2yo) would enjoy. My eldest, L1 (6yo) is a little budding ornithologist and gets frustrated when books have birds without telling you what kinds they are. I was in luck. Not only does What's in the Woods have a wonderful light rhyme scheme and gorgeous art to capture my younger children, but they actually call the creatures by their names. With Charley Harper's highly stylized, yet minimalist interpretation of the most identifying features of each animal is wonderful for young children (and adults) developing an eye for recognizing species.

The matching sticker book has been a delight for decorating pages and personalizing stationary that L1 has been writing notes to everyone he knows on. Even L3, though she needs help pulling the stickers off the page, loves covering page after page with the brightly colored birds and creatures therein.

Buy it!

You can purchase your own copy of What's in the Woods, or one of the other intriguing books in the collection on their website. I would love to have What's in the Rainforest for a set, but I also look the look of the Hieroglyphs from A to Z: A Rhyming Book with Ancient Egyptian Stencils for Kids. Wandering their website, I can fill a wish list for quite a few gift giving holidays.
